1:1 College Mentors – Our 1:1 College Mentors work with Fellows on everything from college identification (reach, target, and safety schools) to writing the all-important college essays and ensuring that all forms are submitted on time. The majority of our College Mentors are Teach for America corps members and alumni who have a special interest in seeing motivated students succeed at a post-secondary level.
ACT Preparation – Through the Princeton Review Fellows learn valuable test taking strategies and work to improve their scores.
FAFSA and Scholarships–Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance representatives come to BRYC to conduct TOPS information sessions and help Fellows/families file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid correctly and early.
Financial Planning and Literacy – Through Chase Bank’s educational programs, BRYC offers financial literacy classes, access to free, no-minimum-balance checking and savings accounts, and develop long-term plans for graduating from college with minimal debt.
